Durbuy (French pronunciation: ⓘ; Walloon: Derbu) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium.. The total area is 156.61 km 2, consisting of the following districts: Barvaux, Bende, Bomal, Borlon, Durbuy, Grandhan, Heyd, Izier, Septon, Tohogne, Villers-Sainte-Gertrude, and Wéris.
- Durbuy Vieille Ville. Durbuy is so dinky that it won’t take long to see everything on foot, but you’ll want to go slow and enjoy the atmosphere on these quaint cobblestone streets.
- Rocher de la Falize. Perhaps the most remarkable of the many monuments crammed into Durbuy is a natural one. At the very top of the town is a giant 300-million-year-old mass of limestone.
- Village de Wéris. Wéris lies within the Durbuy municipality, a ten-minute drive southeast from the city proper through rolling farms and woodland. There are a few reasons to make the journey, but one of the main ones is that this is designated one of Wallonia’s most beautiful villages (Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie).
- Wéris Megaliths. Wéris is also celebrated for the many Neolithic monuments just west of the village. Hewn from conglomerate, these are stretched out in a rough line, some eight kilometres long.
- Visit the Tourist Office. After driving for two hours, the first sight of Durbuy, a pretty little town greeted me as seen in the profile image. One travel tip for a free and easy trip in any city is to always go to the Tourism Office to get a map first.
- Dine in a Nice Restaurant. We arrived in the city around noon time. One of the best things to do in Durbuy was to try out one of the restaurants there especially the fishes from Ardennes.
- Walk in Forest Nature Trail. Another top thing to do in Durbuy is to explore nature and take a short trail in the forest. Hence, we went for 30 to 45 minutes walk in Durbuy after our full but unsatisfying lunch.
- Visit Durbuy Castle. The Durbuy Castle (Chateau de Durbuy) history dated back as early as 1078. It has undergone several devastations over the centuries due to fire and wars.
