Hudson Soft lost several key people starting in the mid-2000s. Co-founder Hiroshi Kudo left the company in November 2004 following financial losses. Shinichi Nakamoto, who was with the company since 1978 and creator of the Bomberman series, followed suit in 2006. Veteran Takahashi Meijin resigned in May 2011; he had joined Hudson Soft in 1982.

Hiroshi Kudo (工藤 博, Kudō Hiroshi, born 3 January 1974 in Hirosaki, Aomori) is a Japanese cross-country skier. He represented Japan at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , where he competed in the 15 km and the 50 km events.

Hudson Soft Co., Ltd. was a Japanese electronics company founded on May 18, 1973 by brothers Yuji and Hiroshi Kudo as Honeybee Soft in Sapporo. It began developing and publishing computer games in 1978, but the company only became a big name in video games in 1983, the year it released the first Bomberman game.

In 1975, Hudson started to develop and publish their own video games. In 1985, after ten years developing video games, Hudson reorganized their business, becoming Hudson Soft.
