Though occasionally clunky in structure and execution (some images reportedly culled from unused footage from Joss Whedon's TV series Firefly, from which the storyline and characters are drawn), the movie is entertaining and the dialogue often witty.
Feb 17, 2019 · Serenity is so misguided and poorly made that it can be enjoyed for its terribleness. It’s not on par with the likes of The Room or Battlefield Earth on the so-bad-it’s-good scale, but it is in that ballpark. The plot is so out-of-this-world ridiculous and yet so predictable that the movie is a special kind of dreadful.

Reply. Thaedora. •. Dislike. There were some plot issues and inconsistency, but the one thing I couldn't look past was how the characters seemed to have forgotten themselves. Relationships had regressed, the subtle nuances of their cameraderie and kinship was lost, and it made the whole movie feel forced and askew.
