Ivan Bohun (Ukrainian: Іван Богун) (died 1664) was a Zaporozhian Cossack colonel. Close associate and friend of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, he opposed both the pacts with Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth (Treaty of Hadiach of 1658) and with Tsardom of Russia (Pereiaslav Agreement of 1654).
The 1st Special Purpose Brigade "Ivan Bohun" ( Ukrainian: 1-ша окрема бригада спеціального призначення ім. Івана Богуна) or the Bohun Brigade is a brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces formed in 2022 on the basis of a National Guard brigade transffered as a part of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

Jul 13, 2024 · The 1st Territorial Defense Brigade named after Ivan Bohun was established in February 2022, shortly after the Russian full-scale invasion. Soldiers from this brigade took part in battles in Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Kherson oblasts, and also fought near Bakhmut. At its peak, the unit had its own tank and artillery elements.
