J. Miles Dale (born 1961) is a Canadian producer and director of film and television, best known for producing the critically acclaimed film, The Shape of Water, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Picture at the 90th Academy Awards. He is a regular collaborator of director Guillermo del Toro.
Academy Award-winning producer J. Miles Dale has been making movies and television programs for over 35 years. His productions have been honored with numerous awards including 17 Oscar nominations and 8 Golden Globe nominations. In 2018, he won the Best Picture Oscar for The Shape of Water.
"Guillermo had mentioned it to me over the years," del Toro's regular collaborator, producer J. Miles Dale, tells A.frame. It came up once again around the time that The Strain, the FX series that del Toro co-created and Dale produced, was coming to an end.
