The Japanese Friendship Garden is a walled section of Kelley Park in San Jose, California, United States. Dedicated in October 1965, it is patterned after Japan 's famous Korakuen Garden in Okayama (one of San Jose's sister cities) and spans six acres.
Purchase Tickets. Children 6 years old or younger are free. Tickets are available for purchase at the door. JFGM accepts cash, card payments and Apple Pay. Lower garden closes 30 minutes before closing time. Click here for early closures. Pets are not permitted. JFGM is a part of the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admissions Program.

I had taken my nieces to Happy Hollow and was searching for parking when I saw the sign for the Japanese Friendship Garden, making a mental note to return.
