ecole-jacqueslecoq .com. École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq is a school of physical theatre previously located on Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. In May of 2023 the school announced its departure from Paris and relocation to Avignon, where its next season training would commence that autumn.
SCHOOL HISTORY On December 5th, 1956, Jacques Lecoq founded the school in Paris. In 1976 the school moved into « Le Central », previously a gymnasium, which became a well-known boxing center in the beginning of the 20th century. The space, built in 1876, was located 57

En 1976, l’école s’installe définitivement au Central, un ancien gymnase devenu un haut lieu populaire de la boxe au début du XXe siècle. Construit en 1876, le bâtiment se situe au 57 rue du faubourg Saint-Denis dans le 10e arrondissement de Paris.
