Biography. Melika Foroutan, born 06 September 1976 in Tehran, initially studied Philosophy, English and History in Cologne from 1995 to 1998. She then enrolled in the acting class at the University of Arts (UdK) in Berlin, where she graduated in 2002. In the three following years, she joined the company at the Schauspielhaus Leipzig.

Melika Foroutan has lived in Berlin for many years, and because of that, lots of people think she’s a German actress. While Germany has played a very important role in her life, Foroutan was born in Tehran, Iran. However, there’s really no information on her parents or why they moved the family to Germany.
Voice acting and live-action work seem to be two different arenas. As such, there are many actors who only do one or the other. Some actors, however, have managed to dabble in both worlds, and Foroutan is one of them. She gave voice acting a try in 2014 with the animated film Pettson and Findus: A Little Nuisance, a Great Friendship.
Melika Foroutan is a professionally trained actress, but acting isn’t the only thing she’s studied.
