  1. Offenbach am Main (German pronunciation: [ˈɔfn̩bax ʔam ˈmaɪn] ⓘ) is a city in Hesse, Germany, on the left bank of the river Main. It borders Frankfurt and is part of the Frankfurt urban area and the larger Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area. It has a population of 138,335 (December 2018).

    • Isenburger Schloss. Next to the Main is a magnificent Renaissance palace from the middle of the 16th century. The Swedish King Gustav II Adolf stayed here in the early 1630s during the Thirty Years’ War to negotiate with Frankfurt.
