For good or bad, it knows what it wants to be, which is to say a science fiction blockbuster in the spirit of Serenity (2005) or Star Wars (1977), and it does its best to be that. But only that.

Jul 20, 2017 · Despite a few moments when it takes itself a little too seriously, Origin Wars is lots of fun and rather creative with its low budget. The film is basically a mash-up of Fortress, The Incredible Hulk, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars meets Mad Max .

Tensely edited action set pieces and convincing CGI creations and sets give the film a visual clout that helps it stand up against much of the big screen sci-fi epics that we have seen in recent years.
