Philadelphia, commonly referred to as Philly, is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
The city is the largest in Pennsylvania, the second-largest in the Northeast megalopolis behind New York City, and the sixth-largest city in the United States. Philadelphia sits adjacent to New Jersey, on the west side of the Delaware River, and is only 15 miles from Delaware.
