Spiridon Ivanovich Putin (Russian: Спиридон Иванович Путин; 19 December 1879 – 19 December 1965) was a Russian chef who was the personal chef of Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin. He was the paternal grandfather of Vladimir Putin.
Spiridon Putin (1879–1965) was a cook in Gorky (now known as Nizhny Novgorod ), his son Vladimir (1911–1999) participated in World War II, grandson Vladimir (born in 1952) made a career in the KGB and the FSB, in 1999 he became the chairman of the Russian government, in 2000–2008 he served as president of the country which he returned to in 2012.
