Tomorrow is a 1972 American drama film directed by Joseph Anthony and starring Robert Duvall. The screenplay was written by Horton Foote, adapted from a play he wrote for Playhouse 90 that was itself based on a 1940 short story by William Faulkner in the short story collection Knight's Gambit.

In 1930s Mississippi, lonely Jackson Fentry lives by himself as the sole caretaker of a sawmill. One day, close to the property, he discovers a young woman, Sarah Eubanks, who is three months pregnant.
"Tomorrow" is a film based on a short story by William Faulkner, which he published back in 1940. The film is quite unusual, as it's filmed in black & white (HIGHLY unusual for 1972) and features almost no incidental music. Because of this and the VERY subdued acting, the film is stark and certainly NOT for all tastes.
