The University of Houston Law Center is the law school of the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. Founded in 1947, the Law Center is one of 12 colleges of the University of Houston, a state university. It is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools.
We are a Tier 1 law school in the much-reviewed rankings compiled by U.S. News & World Report, where we currently rank at No. 60, and we are one of only eight public law schools in the nation with multiple “Top 10” specialty programs.

The Law Center confers a Juris Doctor (JD) degree as a first degree in law and a Master of Laws (LLM) degree to students pursuing work beyond the JD degree. The UH Law Center is located on the University of Houston main campus, three miles south of downtown.
