The University of Oregon (UO, U of O or Oregon) is a public research university in Eugene, Oregon. Founded in 1876, the university also has two Portland locations, and manages a marine station, called the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology, in Charleston; and an observatory, called Pine Mountain Observatory, in Central Oregon.
82 percent of Oregon freshmen receive financial aid, and the UO confers $268 million annually in the form of grants, loans, work-study, and some scholarships. Beyond need-based aid, additional scholarships are open to incoming students and to those who are already attending the UO.
Due to the delay in FAFSA data being supplied to the University of Oregon, the UO is extending the confirmation deadline to June 1, 2024, for first-year students admitted for fall 2024. We are also extending the priority FAFSA filing deadline to April 1, 2024, for all UO students.
