The Beat (known in the United States and Canada as the English Beat and in Australia as the British Beat) are a British band formed in Birmingham, England, in 1978. Their music fuses Latin, ska, pop, soul, reggae and punk rock.

- Mirror in the Bathroom. In 1980 from the album, I Just Can’t Stop It, “Mirror in the Bathroom” became a number-four hit on the UK Singles chart after it was released as a single.

What Is Beat? – The Best of The Beat is a greatest hits album by the ska band the Beat released in 1983. The original vinyl release included an additional "free album" of extended remixes entitled Frebe. [5] Several songs had previously only been released as singles and B-sides.
