Abstract. This paper gives a preliminary account of speech rhythm characteristics for the three main dialects of Irish (Donegal, Connemara and Kerry Irish). The analysis is based on a short read passage. The segmental level Pairwise Variability Index metrics (rCPVI, nVPVI) indicate that Irish groups with stress-timed languages.
