Nevertheless, the expulsion of I306 remains a mystery. It. has been mentioned in many sources, Jewish and Christian, but not explained. As a matter of fact, there was not even an edict of expulsion in I306: the Jews left France under very strange conditions. The Hebrew sources are silent as to the reason for this.
