A unit of the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Battlefield Park, the Wilderness battlefield features extensive walking trails that allow visitors to explore this hallowed ground. Stop by the Chancellorsville Visitor Center on Virginia Route 3 (the Plank Road) for museum exhibits and an orientation to the area.
Visitors may visit the grounds, even when the house is closed. Park at the Ellwood Manor gate on Route 20. Please do not block the gate! Walk the four-tenths of a mile from the gate to the grounds. Plan your visit to the Wilderness Battlefield in Spotsylvania and Orange Counties.
