The semifinals of Season 9 of American Idol comprised of twenty-four singers. It started on February 25th, 2010 and ended March 11th, 2010. This was the first round of the season where America could vote.
The theme for all three rounds is "Billboard Hot 100".
•Originally, the females were scheduled to perform first during the second week, but a sudden medical issue with Crystal Bowersox due to complications from diabetes required the boys to perform first.
•The Top 24 sang "American Boy" by Estelle, ft. Kanye West during the first week results show.
•Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen sang "Scars" and "Let it Be" respectively during the Top 24 results show.
•Allen's performance was made available for download on iTunes with all the proceeds going to Haiti charities.
•The Top 20 sang "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas during the second week results show.
•Danny Gokey sang "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me" during the Top 20 results show.
