Whistler and Blackcomb are two side-by-side mountains which offer over 200 marked runs, 8,171 acres of terrain, 16 alpine bowls, and 3 glaciers combined. In the summer, Whistler Blackcomb offers a variety of activities including hiking and biking trails, the Whistler Mountain Bike Park, and sightseeing on the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola.
The Blackcomb Ascent Trails are three interconnected uphill hiking trails that meander through beautiful old growth coastal rain forest terrain from Whistler’s valley bottom to the Rendezvous Lodge on Blackcomb Mountain. Upon completion, the trails will travel a total of 6.1km with a total elevation gain of 1,200 metres.
Blackcomb Peak is a 5.6 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Whistler, British Columbia, Canada that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking.
Aug 17, 2016 · Over on Blackcomb, if you decide to take the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, you have similar options with the trails around the Rendezvous providing a plethora of subalpine options. In early season (usually June to mid-July) you can also take a bus to the 7th Heaven Chairlift that takes you up to the Horstman Hut for some beautiful high alpine sights.
It’s also less crowded, although new trails have been built recently in an effort to diversify and increase the options for outdoor activities on that side of the Whistler complex. This outing will take you to the summit of 2,436-meter Blackcomb Peak. This outing starts at the Blackcomb gondola near parking lot P1.

Before the chairlifts were opened for the summer and the Peak-to-Peak gondola was built, the hiking trails on Blackcomb were difficult to access. The beautiful, alpine area is now accessible and hikers can easily reach the scenic Blackcomb Lake and viewpoints from a ridge looking towards Overlord Glacier.
