May 14, 2024 · 5 Visit the Cape St. George Lighthouse. St. George Island hasn’t had the best of luck with their lighthouses, to be honest. From being built in the wrong location, to toppling into the sea, they finally got it right with this reconstruction. To be fair, these lighthouses do have to withstand hurricanes and storm surges.
