     In one of my previous positions we had similar case. So about that

     I got a doubt that if selenium only works for web applications

     In the Seleniumhq site, in the very first line you'll find that

     Selenium automates browsers.

     More info is available about the JsonWireProtocol, that is used by Selenium.

     However a workaround could be - record via browser's web site required info (e.g. commands, interactions ) and pass them to a remote VM for processing. But on that VM you'll have to find how

     to do automation testing for a desktop applications

     -in other words...what framework to use this already gathered info for the desktop's app automation.

     Here is my Solution to your problem.

     Beautiful Soup doesn't mimic a client. Javascript is code that runs on the client. With Python, we simply make a request to the server, and get the server's response, along of course with the javascript, but it's the browser that reads and runs that javascript. Thus, we need to do that. There are many ways to do this. If you're on Mac or Linux, you can setup dryscrape... or we can just do basically what dryscrape does in PyQt4.

     Angular form validation is expecting a form or input error to have a name. This name is specified in the arguments you pass to $setValidity, which you use from the ngModelController instance that you require in a directive definition and use in its link function.

     Such a ng-valid-when="expression" attribute would not pass an error name.

     So, you have to build a directive for your error type. Angular is designed this way.

     However, you may write your own generic ngValidExpression directive which would for example toggle ng-invalid-expression/ng-valid-expression classes the same way it does with the ngPattern attribute.

     Finally, yes VSCode can be used to run WinUI 3 apps.

     In the WinUI csproj, please make sure you add these properties in the property group,

     - <Platform>x64</Platform> (Required for VSCode) - <Platforms>x86;x64;arm64</Platforms> (Required for Visual Studio) - <WindowsAppSDKSelfContained>true</WindowsAppSDKSelfContained> (Required for exe)

     It's ok to have both Platform and Platforms in the same project. Perhaps, having the common architecture would be an ideal way. In my case I preferred to go with X64 for both Platform and Platforms (based on my requirement).

     Please also add launch.json & tasks.json in .vscode folder (as in, https://github.com/to-marss/WinUI3TestRunInVSCode-)

     With this setup we can use dotnet cli commands to build and run the app from VSCode. We can do the commands below,

     • dotnet build - Build the libraries.
     • dotnet run - Run the exe and app is displayed.
     • dotnet watch - To have the hot reload behavior, update changes on runtime.
     • dotnet publish - To publish the app.

     P.S. This works fine for any WinUI3 apps and UNO's WinUI target. I hope same can be achieved in MAUI with the minor .csproj changes as above. Hope this helps!
