In terms of amp settings, Chuck Schuldiner’s tone has scooped (read: lowered) mids. Exact settings will vary by amp and your speakers but put the Mids at about 10 o’clock and go from there. Don’t fall into the trap of chasing the tone that you hear in a full mix, though.
Hey guys. Chuck Schuldiner from Death has my absolute favorite tone in metal, and it's kind of been a mission of mine to get it at least as close as I can. I already own the exact head he used (Marshall Valvestate 8100), which can be seen in the link behind him to the left. I love the built in lead channel on this, but finding it tone is difficult.

He used only a Marshall Valvestate 8100 for his tones, which is a solid state guitar amp. cole lewis. Experienced. Feb 14, 2024. #2. Marshall JMP-1 is the closest to the Valvestate as far as models go, if I had to guess circuit wise.
