When Conrad II of Znojmo was born about 1090, his father, Litold aka Luitpold of Znojmo Znojemsky Duke of Znojmo in Moravia, was 19 and his mother, Ida von Babenberg, was 16. He married Princess Marija Vukanović of Serbia in 1134, in Znojmo, Czechia.
In 1190, Conrad and his mother Maria founded the Premonstratensian Louka Abbey in Znojmo. Released from the obligation of participating in the Third Crusade, Conrad accompanied Henry VI, the emperor's son, to Southern Italy as part of his attempt to conquer the Kingdom of Sicily from Tancred in right of Henry's wife Constance.
