Mar 22, 2022 · Gospel-quartet mainstay David O. Will died at age 78 on March 4 in Hendersonville. He was best known as a 23-year veteran of The Imperials. During his tenure with the group, it won three Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and became a licensed minister in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Biography. David Will sang lead for the Keystone Quartet and briefly for the Statesmen. He is best remembered for his tenure with the Imperials where he alternated at lead and baritone from 1976 to 1999. He later performed with the Classic Imperials, a reunion group of former Imperials from 2006 to 2017. Will is also a songwriter.
