Vivek Hallegere Murthy (Kannada: ವಿವೇಕ ಹಲ್ಲೆಗೆರೆ ಮೂರ್ತಿ, born July 10, 1977) is an American physician and a vice admiral in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps who serves as the 21st surgeon general of the United States. He also previously served as the 19th surgeon general from 2014 to 2017.
