Count Philip of Nassau-Idstein (1450 – 16 June 1509) was the youngest son of Count John II of Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein and his wife, Mary of Nassau-Siegen. In 1470, he married Margaret (1456–1527), the daughter of Count Palatine Louis I "the Black" of Zweibrücken-Veldenz.

When Gräfin Maria Magdalena von Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein was born on 11 August 1592, in Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany, her father, Graf Johann Ludwig von Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein, was 25 and her mother, Gräfin Maria von Nassau-Dillenburg, was 23. She married Wolfgang Heinrich zu Isenburg-Büdingen on 11 November 1609.
