Main difference between demo and real game is the tech tree. Demo only goes to green science and misses out on all the spaghetti action, robots, trains, biter evolution, equipment, etc. i don’t think there was oil/ uranium in the demo either. Certainly no mods. Definitely worth the $30, just don’t play if you don’t have 2 hours to kill lol.
Pirating? Maybe. Violation of the EULA/ToS? Definitely. Either way, allowing a friend to experience the game by your side is way better than throwing them to the wolves. I think that should be something that you could do in the demo, the demo player is limited to the demo scenarios but can have another player that owns a copy to join.
The demo is the full game just limited to certain scenarios. There are still little things hidden in there and a huge map worth exploring. It is a great gauge of how much you will enjoy the full game (but be warned, it is addictive).
