Frederick, Prince of Wales (Frederick Louis, German: Friedrich Ludwig; 31 January 1707 – 31 March 1751) was the eldest son and heir apparent of King George II of Great Britain. He grew estranged from his parents, King George and Queen Caroline. Frederick was the father of King George III.

Frederick, Prince of Wales ( 1707-1751) Frederick Louis was the eldest son of George II and his wife Caroline of Ansbach, and was the father of George III. Having been educated in Hanover, finally Frederick was brought to England in 1728 and since then had been a source of trouble for his parents.
Frederick's tastes in the decorative arts tended more to the eighteenth-century French Rococo style. He commissioned silverware from Crespin and Sprimont, continental craftsmen and leaders of taste in designing and making silver objects.
