July 1 through September 8 vehicle reservations are required for Many Glacier from 6 am to 3 pm. Visitors entering the park in a vehicle or on a motorcycle in one of these areas during these dates need two things: (1) A vehicle reservation OR service reservation and (2) Park Entrance Fee OR valid Park Pass (Annual, Senior, Military, etc.).
Glacier National Park. Glacier National Park will implement a pilot vehicle reservation system in the summer of 2024. Vehicle reservations are required beginning May 24 for the west side of Going-to-the-Sun Road and North Fork and on July 1 for Many Glacier. Each location has unique details and requires a separate reservation.

Very challenging 8.5 miles one way hike from Lake McDonald Lodge. 5,000 foot elevation gain to reach a view of Sperry Glacier. Sperry Glacier is the park's most studied glacier. With binoculars and a map you can get a good view of Sperry Glacier's headwall from the Hidden Lake Overlook. Sperry lost 133 acres of area between 1966 and 2015.
