Sep 25, 2023 · Google Hangouts was Google's free messaging and video chat service. It was replaced by Google Chat and Google Meet. Google Hangouts Chat was Google's paid team chat service for users with a Google Workspace account. It's now just called Google Chat. Google Duo was Google's solution for one-on-one video calls (similar to Apple's FaceTime).
With Google Workspace, you and your team can: • Enjoy helpful features like live captions, breakout rooms, and noise cancellation* to make meetings more productive. • Attend meetings on the go. Meetings organized by Google Workspace users also create a dial-in phone number for each meeting, so every guest can join – without wifi or data.
On your computer, in Google Meet, click Start or Join. At the bottom right, click Activities Recording . To record the meeting captions, select a language. In some cases, if the recording is played on Google Drive, the recording file might be ready a few hours before the captions are available. Click Start recording.
