Below is a video that will give you a good idea of what to expect during a visit to the Granville Island Public Market. In the video you’ll notice colourful fruits like pomegranates and berries, along with a nice selection of gourmet cheeses and other fresh produce. In addition, folk can buy prepared food and snacks from various shops. The following video highlights the food court area that’s full of great take-out options in the same building as the fresh produce and other market product vendors. In the food court area there are pastries, ethnic dishes, a juice and salad bar, and much more that visitors can enjoy either indoors or outdoors depending on the weather. For videos about other things you’ll find in the area check out our articles about Granville Island and Shopping at Granville Island.

Not to be confused with the indoor Public Market, which runs daily and year-round, on Thursdays from early June until late September there is the weekly Granville Island Farmers Market. The Farmers Market used to take place in the square right outside the Granville Island Public Market. As of 2019, however, its home is the Chain & Forge which is a new public space under the bridge near The Keg. It’s a small farmers market, but a nice addition to what’s already in the area. Hours of operation are from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. Note: In 2020 the farmers market did NOT operate due to COVID-19. Hopefully it will able to run again in 2021.
