After hearing 'Gravitas' no impreesions remaining in my head. A really sad thing that the band's great intrumental skills (Sam Coulson, the new guitar player, does a great job, too!) one more time is combined with really boring song writing.
Category: Progressive / Rock. Album: Gravitas. Stars: 3.5. Blurb: Presenting fine musicianship, catchy songwriting, and a relaxed atmosphere in equal measure, the latest album from ASIA falls just short of brilliance, but still offers no small amount of satisfaction.
Contrary to popular opinion, I think this new Asia album is their best after original line-up reunion. Despite the stellar line up (well, without Howe this time), I think people should have already learnt what to expect from the band - good old AOR, with Wetton's characteristic melodic touch.
