Apr 2, 2019 · Steve Howe stepped back from ASIA to concentrate on his work with Yes and was absent for 2014’s Gravitas. Following this tour came the news of John Wetton’s treatment for cancer, a fight he sadly lost in 2017. Asia was special guest of Journey for an extensive US tour in 2017, and in 2019 the band toured with Yes within the Royal Affair tour.

Gravitas is the thirteenth studio album by British rock group Asia, released in 2014. It is the group's final studio album with vocalist/bassist John Wetton before his death in 2017 and the only one to feature guitarist Sam Coulson .

Asia biography Founded in London, UK in 1981 - Hiatus between 1986-1989 - Still active as of 2018 ASIA were formed by Steve HOWE (YES), John WETTON (KING CRIMSON, URIAH HEEP, UK ETC.), Geoff DOWNES (YES, BUGGLES) and Carl PALMER (ELP). They were of course immediately dubbed a "supergroup" (in the way as CREAM, EMERSON LAKE AND PALMER etc. were).
Asia are an English rock supergroup formed in London in 1981.
