I've prepared a guide about transforming an online IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) translator called Unalengua into a popup translator that shows how to pronounce text that you select on any webpage. There's also an option to listen to the pronunciation with the current word being highlighted.
I feel it is easier for me to understand the original Russian than the IPA. Generally I found Russian pronunciation not to be that difficult. Sure it took me some time before Russian speakers could understand me, but it is rather regular. Perhaps what can help people is indicating which part of the word to stress.
