Welcome to Help a Child Smile. As you would imagine, life for a child with cancer is filled with pain, hospital visits, treatment, and sacrifice. “Help A Child Smile” was created in 1987 from the need to bring some joy into the lives of children with cancer.
Help a Child Smile is a student-led movement working to raise early awareness about pediatric dental disease and oral cancer. We seek to bridge the gap in oral healthcare inequalities for underserved communities and provide access to care.
Every year, over 51 million school hours are lost due to poor oral health. Help A Child Smile addresses this national crises by offering in-school dental care, bringing the care to the need at NO COST TO YOUR SCHOOL.
Mission. Help the Child Smile is dedicated to raising awareness of pediatric dental disease and oral cancer and bridging oral healthcare inequalities in low-income, rural, and underserved areas.
