Hermann I. von Hessen. Hermann I., „der Ältere“, von Hessen (* nach 1305; † zwischen 1368 und 1370) war der vierte und jüngste Sohn des Landgrafen Otto I. von Hessen und dessen Frau Adelheid von Ravensberg († 1335/39), Tochter von Otto III. von Ravensberg .
Hermann studierte ab 1462 zunächst in Köln, dann in Prag. Schon 1461 wurde er ins Kölner Domkapitel gewählt, war 1463 auch Domherr in Mainz und 1465 Domscholaster in Worms. Weitere Pfründen waren das Dechanten-Amt an St. Gereon in Köln sowie die Propsteien am Marienmünster in Aachen und am Petersstift in Fritzlar.
