In 1869, New Orleans Archbishop Jean-Marie Odin invited the Brothers to open a school in New Orleans, and St. Aloysius opened on September 26, 1869 with six students. The Brothers of the Sacred Heart serve in over thirty countries in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Mar 18, 2021 · Back in 1970, Hebert was a freshman at Brother Martin just after St. Aloysius and Cor Jesu merged. This newly merged school needed a new name. Brother Martin Claude Hernandez was one of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and had a critical role in combining the two schools.
