Next up you have your basic account info – username, name, email address, and password. Choosing your username can feel stressful but doesn’t have to be, just pick whatever pops into your head that feels fitting!
I would send a message to POF through whatever contact info they provide on their actual website and ask them if the email address sending you emails (what I would consider spam) is actually an address they use. Unless you were actually paying for POF just ignore the messages. Smells like a phishing attempt.

You have a limited time to verify with the code, so make sure you have access to that phone as soon as you enter the number to verify. If you're using a mobile phone, you might be prompted to share your location with POF. Tap Allow to proceed.

Apr 15, 2021 · A: There could be one of two things happening here. If you’ve been sent a text that has a verification code for a Plenty of Fish account, it means someone has, hopefully accidentally, used your number to try and sign up for an account. Without the code you were texted, they won’t be able to register with your number.
On your iPhone (not in the app) go to SETTINGS. Go to NOTIFICATIONS. In the list of apps, select Plenty of Fish. There, turn the "Alerts" on or off. On Android, follow these instructions: From any page in the app, tap the menu icon on the top right corner of the page (three vertical dots) or your device's menu button. Click SETTINGS.
