May 2, 2024 · Ice off is a fantastic time to fish this lake and there are opportunities all over the lake. Many fly anglers are intimidated by 11 mile and prefer other south park lakes. But, 11 mile is amongst some of our Guides favorites. Fishing has been excellent recently at 11 mile. Fish will cruise tight to the shorleines and ice shelves in search of food.
Tuesday, May 07 2024. As of 5/7/2024, Fishing has been great since ice off. Many anglers are catching trout cruising the shallows. Flies and lures are working. Flies to try include leech patterns, buggers, egg patterns, and larger nymphs. Dry fly action will improve as it starts to warm up.

The ponds are closed to fishing for the remainder of the year and are utilized for settling of water that has cycled through the hatchery system. Primary game fish include striped bass, large- and smallmouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, green sunfish, and black crappie. The best time for largemouth bass is May-September, fishing during early morning and evening.
