Set off on a whole new type of hunt in the latest in-game Hunt Showdown event. The first of its kind, a Wild Target roams the bayou waters looking for prey... Rotjaw, an ancient-looking alligator that harnesses a strange necrophagic energy.
The Tide of Shadows event will run in Hunt Showdown from June 28, 2023 at 5 AM EST to August 23, 2023 at 3 AM EST.
A new undead horror lurks the bayou. The alligator Rotjaw debuts in Hunt Showdown as the first Wild Target in the game. Unlike Boss Targets, Rotjaw is found out in the open rather than in a lair. Not only is Rotjaw huge enough to easily take on three players at once, she harnesses a strange necrophagic energy in her twisted body.

Purchase the Battle Pass during the Tide of Shadows event to unlock the premium progression track, or progress in-game to unlock rewards along the free tier reward track. Complete both Battle Pass tracks to unlock not just one, but two new Legendary Hunters!

Three new pacts are available to choose from for this latest in-game event, Tide of Shadows. Choose between the Grounded Pact, Primal Pact, or Smuggler Pact and collect Pledge Marks in-game to unlock new Traits, unlockable lore pieces, and even Legendary content.
Here are all three new Pacts available during the Tide of Shadows event:

•Daughter of Decay
•Teche Wraith
Grounded Pact Traits:
•Shadow (1 PM): Monsters can't see you, but they still can hear you. Boss Targets and Wild Targets are immune to this Trait.
•The Reptilian

•The Skinned
•Gar
Primal Pact Traits:
•Instinct (1 PM): While in Dark Sight, sense when enemy Hunters are nearby. (75m)
•The Wayward Helmsman
•The Rat
•Deckhand
•Carcass Gunrunner
Smugglers Pact Traits:
•Mariner (1 PM): Health restoration is greatly increased while in water. Health restoration is marginally increased while exposed to heavy rain.
There are three ways you can earn Pledge Marks while playing missions in Tide of Shadows:
•Reaching the Event Point (EP) Threshold: Gaining 20 EPs for the first time will reward 1 Pledge Mark.
•Looting your first Hunter: Only the first Hunter looted will give 1 Pledge Mark, all loots after this will only give Event Points.
•Banishing your first Target: Only the first Banish will give 1 Pledge Mark, banishing the second boss will only give Event Points.
One way you can unlock Pledge Marks is by earning Event Points during the Tide of Shadows event. Here are all the ways you can earn Event Points and how many points each task rewards:
