Everyone who comes to Colorado knows the Big Thompson Canyon from Loveland to Estes (and on into Rocky Mountain National Park and Trail Ridge Road) as one of the scenic routes into the Rockies. But a lesser know and just as scenic route is Colorado Highway 14, through the Cache De Poudre Canyon and on over Cameron Pass to Walden.
The water flows down the hillside to the Animas River. My kids followed the stream part of the way down. It is much more visible from the southbound side of the rode than from the northbound side because trees around the parking lot south of the spring partially block the view of it.
