  1. Stocking Report. The list below identifies where catchable trout (approximately 10") were recently stocked. Note: The stocking report is updated every Friday during the fishing season and lists waters that were scheduled to be stocked throughout the previous week.

  2. CPW hatcheries stock over 2.5 million 10" rainbows (called "Catchables") into public lakes and rivers each year. Kokanee salmon- Kokanee are the land-locked form of sockeye salmon that live in reservoirs throughout the higher elevations.

  4. Jan 2, 2022 · Across the state, you can expect to find a mixture of species, including cutthroat, brown, lake, brook, and rainbow trout. You can also find Kokanee salmon and mountain whitefish in various Colorado waters.

  6. Since 2014 when the program began, CPW has collected about 100,000 eggs per year from 100 female trout in the east portal. From 2014 to 2019, CPW stocked 80,000 to 100,000 Gunnison River rainbows every year, primarily in the Gunnison and Arkansas rivers.
