    You can translate documents into many languages with Google Docs.

    1. On your computer, open a document in Google Docs.

    2. In the top menu, click Tools Translate document.

    3. Enter a name for the translated document and select a language.

    4. Click Translate.

    5. A translated copy of your document will open in a new window. You can also see this copy in your Google Drive.

    Tip: If 'Translate document' isn't visible, you're likely in Microsoft Office editing. To translate, convert your file to Google Docs. Learn about Microsoft Office editing and how to convert Microsoft Office files.

    1. On your computer, open a document in Google Docs, a presentation in Google Slides or a sheet in Google Sheets.

    • In Google Docs or Google Slides, go to the top menu and click File Language the language that you need.

    • In Google Sheets, go to the top menu and click File Spreadsheet settings, then pick the locale of the language that you need.

    2. When you choose a non-Latin language, the 'Input tools menu' will show in the toolbar. To enter non-Latin characters like Hindi or Chinese, click the Down arrow next to the 'Input tools menu'.  Note: You can also open the 'Input tools menu' by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift + K (PC) or ⌘ + Option + Shift + K (Mac) on your keyboard.

    Important: This feature isn't supported in all regions.

    1. In your browser, go to Google Translate.

    2. At the top, click Websites.

    3. We recommend setting the original language to “Detect language.”

    4. In the “Website,” enter a URL.

    5. Click Go .

    When you open a translated website, you can switch between the original and translated versions.

    On medium to large screens

    • Option 1: At the top left, click the language tabs.

    • Option 2: At the top right, click the Down arrow  to open the dropdown menu. Select Translation or Original.

    On small screens

    • Option 1: At the top left, click the language tabs.

    After you open a translated website, you can change the translation language.

    1. Check that you’re on the translated website.

    2. At the top, in the translation language tab, click the Down arrow .

    Tip: If you think the original language of the website is incorrect, click the the original language tab Down arrow.

    You can translate documents up to 10 MB in any of these formats:.docx,.pdf,.pptx,.xlsx. PDF files must be 300 pages or less. To translate more documents or larger documents, learn about the Cloud Translation API.

    Important:

    • Document translation isn’t available on smaller screens or mobile.

    • You can find text in images and scanned .pdf pages in the output document but they aren’t translated.
