This little merry-go-round doesn't care about your browser extensions. "Unusual activity" might have been I left VPN rolling on random so my location has probably jumped. (I haven't done any follow/unfollow surges) I've solved this twice and my finding is good news: IG wants it's users back.

-logging out of all my accounts on all platforms. -deleting the app completely as well as closing any browsers open to it. -not trying for ~48 hours. -attempted login through the browser on my phone before redownloading app. -finally got the right acct verification requests and was able to log back in!
