I think it's not worth taking the risk! at some point you will have to buy something newer, in the meantime the best if it works well would be to leave it alone

My personal favorite is Compaq’s Evo N6xx series. These machines have the dubious distinction of being the last Compaq-branded business-class notebooks before the branding changed to HP. They also had a weird interface for an early 802.11b add on that did not continue into future models.
Compaq MultiPort Bluetooth drivers are included with the Evo Notebook N410c/N610c. Software for other MultiPort devices is provided with the option kit and must be installed prior to use. MultiPort devices are only supported under Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
