   Is Midsommar worth watching? Movie Help. Watched the trailer yesterday and actually can't decide if this movie is worth two hours of my time. It definitely gave off creepy and an unsettled feel, depicting horror in the bright of day isn't something easy to do, especially when horror is mainly associated with night / darkness.

   • Midsommar is such an unbelievably great film. I love this movie so much. Of course I loved Hereditary and it’s one of my favorite horror movies ever. I don’t know if I can classify Midsommar as a horror? It has horror elements, but it’s closer to a psychological thriller to me. The themes I pick up on are empathy and conditioning/manipulation.

   Is Midsommar a good movie?

   • Midsommar was the only movie where they actually got it right. The subtle movement of the trees, and grass and etc really nailed it and added to the overall feeling of uncertainty and discomfort throughout. That and LSD. Seeing the trees subtly breathe in and out behind the scenes gave me a legit secondary high. It was pretty spot on.

   • People have had some very valid reasons for not liking Midsommar. Some have said it’s too slow, some have said side characters are stereotypical or one-dimensional, some have said that the marketing of this as a horror movie did not match the movie they saw. I don’t agree with these points, but I can see where people are coming from.
