Jul 1, 2020 · Is it Nagel’s widow, Jennifer Dumas? Left: Acrylic on canvas Jeana, 1983. Right: Posthumous lithograph 1990. The simple answer is no. The model is Jeana Tomasino. Nagel created many images with Jeana. He enjoyed using the same models again & again.

Jun 29, 2020 · I’d read somewhere (awhile ago) that “Jeana” was Jeana Tomasino, who was one of the muses in ZZ Top’s “Legs” video. Oddly, even though she was a model, there are not many surviving photographs of Jennifer Dumas. I believe there are a couple in my book, mainly standing in the group of family snapshots.
In 1993, roughly nine years after Nagel's death, his widow Jennifer Dumas went into litigation with Playboy over the rights to the artwork published in the magazine. See Playboy Enterprises, Inc. v. Dumas.

Jan 20, 2020 · He was married to model Jennifer Dumas at the time of his death in 1984. His compositions are uncluttered, with dramatic, strongly defined lines (usually in black). His palettes appear almost lacquered, often consisting of pinks, creams, blues and purples, with occasional hits of yellows, reds and greens.
His wife, Jennifer Dumas, a successful model, had a great influence on his life and art. She occasionally posed for him, and some have speculated she was the inspiration for the concept we recognize as "the Nagel woman."
