Aug 09, 2015 · July 28, 2017 - A quick blue lite rail ride from downtown Minneapolis, we visited Minnehaha Park and right at the entrance is the Stevens House. Over 134 years, the house has been moved four times and finally is at this picturesque location. There is a statue of John H. Stevens very close to the house.
On June 30, 1983, to commemorate the house’s first move, school children pulled the Stevens House, with the help of a truck driver, 200 yards to its current location. After the completion of its move and restoration by the Junior League in 1985, the John H. Stevens House was open as a public museum.
